Hello my Freaky Darlings!

It's been a while; three months, in fact! Happy New Year to you all! I hope you had a fun festive time at the end of 2018.

I have decided. 2019 is my year. It is the year I turn everything upside down and make my dreams come true!

Honestly, I am sick and tired of wishing my dream profession/lifestyle was a reality but instead denying myself because "it's unobtainable/not feasible/not a 'real' job/not realistic/it won't work/it won't pay the bills/blah blah blah/etc."

I have been putting this off for waaaaayyy too long! I've been sitting on this egg for years. Sure, I've dabbled here and there, got an idea and done it and shared it. But, I haven't ever really pursued the dream of making art and crafts my career with any kind of determination or hustle.

When I say "years", by the way, I'm talking a decade of years! 😔

I didn't believe in myself, or that there was any chance that it could even remotely work. Or, I ventured too far outside of my comfort zone and bailed. I have also, unfortunately, had years of being told it's not possible or realistic as an earning-a-living career choice by people close to me and that "care" about me.

Now, those that said they "cared" about me are no longer a part of my life.

I have a very supportive partner now, my parents are rooting for me, and I have supportive friends too. Love you guys! xxx

Now is the time I crack the egg I've been incubating and hatch what's inside. I need to do it quickly though, before my survival brain catches up with me and makes me bail out again!

I've decided, this time around, I'm not going to plan too much. Too much planning causes me to overthink and I get mentally paralysed by it all. This time, I'm jumping in with both feet and making it up as I go along (mostly)! I'm feeling oddly positive, courageous, and keen about it all!

My vague plan for the next few weeks is as follows:

• The Face Lift: complete brand design overhaul; new logo, new style, cohesive across all platforms.

• A "proper" website; I am in the process of creating a website, with a .co.uk domain, that will be my base of operations - it does mean this blog will eventually move to the new site.

• Record some arty videos for my YouTube channel - I've got 3 or 4 in mind already.

• Content content content.

Yes, it really is that vague! 😅

One step at a time; I don't need to see the top of the mountain to start climbing it!

I have set myself a timeline for when I want certain things to be done by. I am determined to stick to it. I will keep all of you Freaky Darlings updated as I go.

Bring it on 2019! I've got this! We've got this!
