I'm Still Lurking

Hello my Freaky Darlings!

Whoa! What happened? Where did all that time go!? It’s been over a year and a half since I last wrote in this journal! 😲

Sooo, Happy New Year 2021...?

In my Happy New Year 2020 post, I stated that it would be a year of massive change… well… I didn’t mean for it to be like this… 😥

Didn’t life-as-we-knew-it go sideways! A global pandemic, along with a whole bunch of other disasters, affected so many people. I know I didn’t handle it as well as I’d hoped… did anybody? I mean, thankfully I wasn’t particularly scared about any of it. However, I think that having no choice but to stay locked in at home and not being able to see anyone I wanted sent me, along with a lot of other people, into a kind of depression. Even this introvert needs to socialise! I am grateful I still had to work through the whole thing though (joys of being an essential worker!). If I hadn’t, I may have completely lost my remaining marbles. 😬

In recent months, after a year of not having the inclination, I've been creating again and have some new pieces on the go. I know, I know, there are still some older pieces to finish, and I will, I just needed to get these started to get them out of my system! I will get back to sharing my work soon too.

Oh, and that blasted shelving unit I was working on, first mentioned in January 2020’s WIP Wednesday #02? I actually finished it! 😱

It took me waaayyy longer than it really should have, but it is painted, waxed, assembled, and has been in use for well over a year now! Check out the progress photos below (click to enlarge):
