Come ooonnn… you get all these ideas, you know what you’re doing, and you make a comeback video and journal post… then... nothing! For nigh on two months! 😩
And it’s not as if nothing has happened. What was the problem? Lacking the perception of passing time? Attack of the brain gremlins*? Other life stresses taking the wheel for longer than I should allow? The answer: Yes. To all of the above. And then some. I don’t like it, but it is what it is and I have to accept it and move forward. Will it happen again? Well I hope not, but more likely it will, frustratingly so… 😖
Anyway...
Hello my Freaky Darlings!
I hope you are all well. I am doing alright. I know I normally post these "WIP" journal entries on Wednesdays, but I wanted to get this one published as soon as it was done so it's happening on whatever day I can, hence the "WIP Whateverday" title!
Here are the highlights of events since my last life update (click images to enlarge):
One sold out gig at Redrum^ featuring the ska punk legends [spunge]^, with support from Eat Defeat^ and the ever awesome Leftovers^! 🤘
[spunge] were great, but Leftovers definitely know how to party, throwing fun foam hands out into the crowd for their song Introvert Symphony Part 1^; gotta use them during that chorus 😉
Such a good night with great friends and music! 😆
A day trip to Mostyn and Talacre Point in Wales with Dum and Mad*.
The Point^ at Talacre was really nice, they had interesting and fun décor plus good homemade food 😋
Apparently, they also provide a "tattoo removal service", though it seems a little old-school to me... 😏
We went for a short walk to the beach, but decided to turn back as it was bitterly cold and incredibly windy!
Redrum’s Halloween Party - unfortunately there are no photos from that night, that I'm aware of anyway! 😅 It was a fun night of drinking and (maybe a bit of) dancing/moshing with friends!

A short trip to and nice walk around Rudyard Lake with the fam. The lake is actually a reservoir located in the tiny village of Rudyard, Staffordshire, a short drive north-west from the town of Leek. It was built between 1797 and 1799 to feed the Caldon Canal, and is about 2 miles long!
The carved tree has a Victorian tight-rope walker on top, this is supposed to be Carlos Trower, aka The African Blondin, who performed a tight-rope walk across the lake in 1861.
I have no idea what the display case suspended between two trees is about, it appears to contain a number of "arty" ceramic pieces. Either way, it looks a bit creepy...
Spotted a lone highland bull. He was a very big boy. Don't worry, he was calm and there was some distance and a deep stream between us! 😅
Also spied some rather strange black fungus growing on a mossy tree branch. I believe it's known as Dead Man's Fingers. Yay, more creepiness!
The rest of my time has been working at the day job and doing some bits of arty stuff on a few pages of a new project sketchbook.
On The Website:
Published two Journal entries: "I'm Still Lurking" and "Happy 13th October!". Added my "Signs of Life" short to the Flicks* page. Turned the homepage titles for “Latest Journal Entries” and “Latest Flicks” into direct links to their pages. Plus tidied up some pages and journal posts, added post descriptions, a new journal category, tag-cloud and archive.
In Progress This Month:
"Liquorice Allsorts" journal post - from two years ago! It's going to be more like a "throwback" post than a fresh "look what just I did" post... 🤷♀️ - and some new journal posts for December.
The rest of the to-do list is still on pause; I am looking at it though, and mustering willpower.
Keep on doing/being the best you can. You are enough.
Much Love and Blessed Be
